WELCOME
The Milliken Fire Protection District serves the Town of Milliken, Colorado and properties adjacent to Milliken in unincorporated Weld County to the Southwest of Evans and Greeley. The District is approximately 38 square miles with an estimated population of 7,000 to 8,000 residents. The district currently has six career firefighter staff members and 44 Volunteers that respond to all fire and medical alarms seven days a week.
The career staff is complimented by our volunteers who work 12-24 hour shifts at the fire station. We are proud to offer the residents of the Milliken Fire Protection District 24-hour in-house coverage. This allows us to respond much quicker to all emergencies in our district and to better serve the people of our community. Milliken Fire Protection District currently operates out of two fire stations that in 2009 responded to 486 alarms. Station 1 is located at 101 South Irene Avenue in the Town of Milliken. Milliken Station 2 is located at 4225 Yosemite Drive in the "Hill N Park" subdivision, and serves Dos Rios, Arrowhead, and Indian Hills subdivisions.
The Milliken Fire Protection District is always looking for a few good men and women interested in joining the volunteer ranks of our department. All new applicants who successfully pass the requirements to become probationary volunteer firefighters are enrolled in a Colorado State Certified Firefighter I academy. Probationary volunteer firefighters must also successfully complete a minimum of First Responder medical training. All firefighters are encouraged to attain Colorado State Firefighter II, and EMT-B certification. If you are already Firefighter I certified, we encourage you to apply with us. The Milliken Fire Protection District accepts applications year round and may be printed out on our website.
